House of Welcome Adult Day Program
Using a person-centered approach, House of Welcome's (HOW) Day Program offers structured, therapeutic, small-group activities in a comfortable, home-like setting. Creative arts therapies are a unique feature of our programming. Participants enjoy meaningful activities and friendships, while caregivers benefit from time on their own. Family caregivers are also provided supportive case management services.
Even if you're not sure the Day Program is the right fit: if you or a loved one are experiencing memory loss and you want to talk about your options for the future, we are available to answer questions and make referrals. Call us at 847.242.6250.
Participants & Family Members
Participants tell us how much it means to them to be part of a group where they are respected and valued and to be involved in activities that give meaning to their lives. Family members echo these sentiments and also tell us that it brings them peace of mind.
“When my husband and I went to the interview for him to join the Day Program, he was told he could bring his trombone, and that was the grabber for him. He absolutely loved the music portion of the day at HOW and would refer to it as ‘rehearsal.’ I was so impressed by the way Gil was treated at HOW.” ~Carolyn Krulee
