About Us

As a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization, our highest priority is the older adult community. Our work is driven by our passion of serving older adults and their family members in Chicago's northern suburbs. We serve and engage more than 24,000 individuals in 39 communities each year—from the most independent to those needing more support. NSSC offers a comprehensive suite of services including a wide array of social services, specialized care for people living with dementia, counseling, money management, educational and wellness programs, and volunteer opportunities.

Communities We Serve

NSSC proudly serves older adults and their families across Chicago's northern suburbs. Our main location, the Arthur C. Nielsen, Jr. Campus in Northfield, is home to our vibrant Center—a welcoming space for learning, connection, and community. Adjacent to the Center is our House of Welcome Adult Day Services which supports families experiencing memory loss with compassionate care. NSSC also provides Senior & Family Services through additional offices in Niles and Glenview, along with counseling and social services at six area hospitals, senior housing communities, local community centers, and village/township offices.
