Surprising Stories of the North Shore by The Winnetka Historical Society explores several lesser-known people, places, and events in the area’s history. Spanning over 200 years and more than 80 square miles of land, this exhibit unveils stories from various cities, towns, and villages that may be unfamiliar but are nonetheless significant to the development and character of their communities and the North Shore at large. Many are quirky or unexpected, some are tragic, and others will leave you in awe of what North Shore residents have accomplished. The Winnetka Historical Society hopes this exhibit will show that every history is worth preserving and every story worth sharing
The exhibit will be displayed at North Shore Senior Center from October 31st through December 28th (Please check senior center website for open hours www.nssc.org)
