Celebrating 60 Years of Service

You're Invited to Join Us!

At North Shore Senior Center, your chronological age doesn't matter, but your interests and needs do. Whether you want to try your hand at sculpture, study the intricacies of world politics, enjoy a concert or learn more about Medicare, you've come to the right place.

Feeling like you need a bit of intellectual stimulation? Keep boredom at bay by checking out the many Lifelong Learning programs and classes that we host each week.

Tired of hanging around the house? A cup of coffee, good conversation, and a friendly game of bridge awaits you at our spacious and welcoming Northfield location.

In search of resources and information for seniors? We can help. Bring your questions about caregiving, in-home support services or government programs to us.

What do we ask in return? We want you to forget every tired stereotype associated with growing older, reaching retirement, or becoming one of society's elders. Instead, we invite you to envision the future you want.

Our headquarters, the Arthur C. Nielsen, Jr. Campus, located in Northfield, Illinois, offers these amenities:

  • A&A Café
  • Atrium "Town Square"
  • Dickey Fine Arts Studio
  • Senior & Family Services
  • Fitness Center
  • Lending Library
  • Mim's Shop at the Center
  • Nichols Fiber Arts Studio
  • Rauner Music Room
  • Robert H. Cohn Auditorium
  • Technology Learning Center
  • Volunteer Opportunities

North Shore Senior Center, a 501(c)(3) organization, also has a Senior & Family Services Office located in Niles, Illinois. Our House of Welcome Adult Day Services Program is located in Northfield, adjacent to our main campus. Additionally, our social workers meet with clients at a variety of hospitals and municipal buildings throughout the northern suburbs of Chicago. We welcome adults of all ages, races, ethnicities, religious traditions and spiritual practices, genders and sexual orientations.

At North Shore Senior Center, we like to "Imagine aging done right." We hope you'll join us for the inspiration and adventures that lie ahead!
