Men's Club Offers Unique Programs to Community
Men’s Club programs are a long-standing North Shore Senior Center tradition, dating back to our early days in the mid-1950s. What started out as an educational series created by and for recently retired suburban men has grown into one of the most multi-faceted and well-attended lecture series on the North Shore.
Today, North Shore Senior Center’s Men’s Club welcomed Shawn Parks, an Evans Scholars alum, who presented a history of the Western Golf Association Evans Scholars Foundation. This organization sends deserving caddies to one of 19 universities across the country. Tuesday Men's Club Programs begin at 10:30 a.m., immediately following the Men's Club business meeting. These programs are free and open to all men and women in the community. Please be aware that some speakers draw extremely large audiences and early arrival is recommended, as seating in our Robert H. Cohn Auditorium is first-come,
The MC Program Committee arranges approximately 50 presentations each year and secures the presenters to come on a pro bono basis. If you are unable to attend, many of the presentations are recorded and shown on local cable TV in Glenview and Northbrook. The Men’s Club also hosts an Annual Picnic in the summer for the club members and their guests. At this year’s June 13th picnic, members of the Men’s Club and their guests can enjoy a fishing casting contest, golf driving contest, Bocci ball, loads of food, prizes and more!
If interested in joining the Men’s Club at North Shore Senior Center, please attend a meeting and sign up for a name tag on the sign-in sheet. The Membership Chair or one of the officers will be in touch. Center membership is required to officially belong to the Men’s Club.
