In 1983, the North Shore Senior Center’s House of Welcome (HOW) was one of the first adult day services programs in the nation, and the very first in the Chicago area to provide services specifically for persons with memory loss.
This unique program tailors programs to individual and family needs in a comforting homelike setting. And their families receive respite from the challenges of care and concern and may take advantage of counseling services and support groups.
Some participants attend a few days, others come every day. To make lives more manageable, participants can receive special services including bathing, hairdressing, podiatry and massage.
Funds raised through the Benefit for the House of Welcome help support our sliding fee scale and scholarship program. |
